A car manufacturer has responded to its retailers being shutdown by providing tours of their model range from workers’ driveways.
SEAT’s Live Showcase service, which was introduced in 2019, enables customers to speak with a dedicated expert and experience the vehicle that they are interested in, all without having to leave their home.
The vehicle tour would normally take place in a dedicated retailer space, but with showrooms shut following government advice to prevent the spread of Covid-19, SEAT’s team has responded by relocating the service to their homes.
Through 4G capability and video technology, an expert will connect with customers and live stream their model of choice via a mobile, tablet or desktop device, enabling them to experience the car on their terms.
These driveway walkarounds are designed to give potential customers an up-close view of their potential next car, with six hosts currently providing live demonstrations of the Arona, Ateca and Tarraco models from their driveways.
It is also available to existing customers who may have questions about their current SEAT, including how to use certain features and accessories.
Over the last week, since the service went fully remote, the team have already handled almost 200 calls from the safety and security of their homes.

Enter your phone number to get an immediate call back or to schedule an appointment for a date / time that is convenient for you
An expert will connect with you on their mobile, tablet or desktop via video feed
The SEAT expert will demonstrate the vehicle of choice, talking through everything from performance of the car to infotainment settings
If interested, you can also be guided through a step-by-step configuration process
The service is available Monday – Friday from 11:00 – 21:00 and Saturday – Sunday from 11:00 – 19:00.
